Title Count and Compare
Description This activity focuses on counting and comparing numbers of objects with an emphasis on recognizing when those numbers of objects are equal. Students use matching or counting strategies to compare the cardinalities of sets of objects. The sets may consist of the same kind of object (e.g., apples) or different kinds of objects (e.g., a set of puppies and a set of apples). Multiple representations are available, which help to emphasize the numbers of objects in each set and afford different ways of making and verifying comparisons.
