This activity is designed as a guided inquiry lab in which students investigate the effects of solution concentration, path length, and solution color on absorption. Students determine the optimum wavelength to use for detection given solutions based on color. They also look at the relationship between transmittance and absorbance and utilize graphical analysis of data collected to investigate relationships. |
